The Crawfordsville Strawberry Festival Steering Committee held their first meeting for the 2026 festival. On the top of the agenda was the passing of the gavel from longtime chairperson S. David Long to incumbent Jessica McClamroch. McClamroch co-chaired the festival with Long during the 2025 festival, which was deemed a success; despite the weather and price increase. She is also the current Executive Assistant for the Crawfordsville | Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
During the ceremony, Long stated that he “really enjoyed my time as chairperson. We have a very strong group of dedicated, unpaid volunteers who spend a great deal of time and effort to ensure we have the best possible festival. I can’t thank you enough”. He also added that he’s ‘berry’ happy to be just a committee member again.
According to their press release, some funds have already been raised for this year’s festival. Letters are currently being sent. If you would like to donate, individuals and businesses are encouraged to contact Ethan Grant at ethan.strawberryfestival@gmail.com. The 2026 Strawberry Festival will be held from June 12th through June 14th at the historic Lane Place.
McClamroch closed the meeting with the hit of her new gavel. The next one is scheduled for March 15th.
